Smyth County Genealogical Society

The Smyth County Genealogical Society was recently organized to assist its members and others with family roots in Smyth County with their family history research as well as preserve records and documents and make them available to others.

Monthly meetings are typically held on the third Tuesday of each month. Please refer to our Event Calendar for actual date, time, and location of our monthly meeting as well as special events.

We are housed in the Southwest Virginia Heritage Room at Smyth-Bland Regional Library. The library has been a great support to the society and we appreciate them for allowing the society to utilize their facilities.
We thank you for visiting. Please take a moment to sign our guest book. If you are interested in joining us, click here to learn how to become a member of SCGS.
