My Gr Gr grandmother, Elizabeth Pickel (or Pickell? or Beckel?), married Gr Gr granddad, William Deatherage, in Smyth Co. on 10 July 1832 (Smyth Co marriage records). However, I have never been able to poistively identify her parents and siblings. I suspect her father was named Henry Pickel, Jr. but, I have no hard info. I know there are several Pickel family descendants still living in Smyth Co. I'd love to hear from you about family genealogy.

I am a direct descendant of Keziah Cole and Sampson Cole who married, bringing together the two Cole families, both originally from Massachusetts. Keziah's family hales back to three Mayflower ancestors. Keziah's daughter, Keziah married Richard Williams whose family left Wales (late 1600s) to settle in Pennsylvania then Washington County. Most of their male offsping and one daughter pioneered on to Blount and Monroe Counties in Tennessee. Would enjoy comparing information with other "cousins."

I'm happy to find your organization. I joined today. Looking for info on my wife's great-grandmother, Matilda Cardwell, who lived there from before 1900 to after 1930. She was married to Wesley Green Shoun who died and then Wiley G.Sawyer.
