My great-great grandfather, John Maidon Romans and his brother James H. Romans lived in Smyth County. Both enlisted in the Confederate army (John Maidon in the 36th VA Infantry, Logan Wildcats, and James H. in the 4th VA Infantry, Smyth Blues). James H. died at First Manassas, but John Maidon survived the war and raised a large family there. He later became a Methodist minister and was pastor (I think) of Greenwood Methodist Church in Marion, VA.

I descend from Lewis Thomas b. 1765 and buried my Grandfather in Rush Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery May 12, 1994. Currently I live in PA and I am seeking information about family, not only who they were but what they did, their likes, their character, their ways. Any ideas will be welcomed and entertained. Thanks.
